An 81‑year‑old motorcycle rider who crashed Tuesday north of Bodega Bay is an Oregon man who’d been riding with friends, according to the CHP.

Ovean Larue had been riding up Highway 1 Tuesday afternoon and crashed about 2:30 p.m., as he came out of a curve near Scotty Creek and Portuguese Beach. Larue’s three‑wheeled Harley Davidson drifted off the roadway and traveled over an embankment, landing about 25 feet down, the CHP said.

Friends called for help and the man was aided by firefighters and paramedics and flown by CHP helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

There was no indication of impairment, according to the CHP.
